WSUS detects and sends updates to all systems, including the 2012 servers.
WSUS will detect but not send updates to any of the 2016 servers.
It can take up to 10-15 minutes for the server to report these entries in the log and unfortunately does not always succeed. If after 10 -15 minutes these entries are not logged, repeat these steps one more time.In order to achieve a speedy publication, Quick Tips may represent only partial solutions or work-arounds that are still in development or pending further proof of successfully resolving an issue. As such Quick Tips have not been reviewed, validated or approved by Dell and should be used with appropriate caution.Restarting Windows update services didn’t help, and neither did the command ‘wuauclt /detectnow’.
When using WSUS there are a few thing you need to take into account. In the first step the computer reports it’s status to the WSUS server.
Dell shall not be liable for any loss, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profit or loss of revenue, which customers may incur by following any procedure or advice set out in the Quick Tips.
We have a WSUS server running on Windows Server 2016.
We’re using WSUS 3.0 to update our environment with the latest Windows Updates. The majority was downloaded and after rebooting the server when these updates were installed, windows update failed to detect and download the rest of the required updates within a reasonable amount of time.
I found that sometimes when a lot of updates had to be installed on a server, not all approved updates were downloaded to the server.
Any changes to WSUS settings must be performed using the SBS console, which allows only a limited set of changes to be made.
